Oh yes, we know it well!
We are special. We are islanders. We are Jegindø-islanders.
We stubbornly maintain our life-style and our dialect. We do not have the high wages nor the cultural offers of city dwellers.
Nevertheless, we would not change with them.
No, not for the world.
We know each other, we help each other, we have time to talk to each other, and to share a passing comment with our summer guests.
And when they leave, the say
“Goodbye, I’ll be back soon!”
And a lot of them are.
Some return year after year, all their lives.
Like the migratory birds.
